Thought I'd post a picture of my dad's 2009 buck, shot with a draw tag.

Very nice buck, congrats to your dad, and I agree smile.

I agree, he definitely needs to smile. It was shot in central Washington on a draw tag. The widest inside spread is 28 5/8. We don't have many field pictures, but I will see what I can dig up.
As far as the story goes: we worked out the rock out cropping you can see in the picture. We glassed and spotted some deer, including the buck. There were at least 20 deer in the herd, including at least 6 bucks. The big buck was chasing does and chasing the smaller bucks off. There were at least 2 other four points in the herd, but this one was definitely in charge. Put a 3 hour stalk on and tried to get a good enough look to decide if he was worth shooting. We ended up about 70 yards from the whole herd, and when my dad got a good look at the buck he decided he was worth punching the tag on. The rest is history. It was definitely an exciting hunt. This is the first time I've hunted muleys in the rut, and it is a whole different game. This was definitely the most exciting deer hunt I've been on.

that is a nice buck but it is not the yct that pic has trees in it

Kinda looks like a place I know but I did not think you needed a draw to hunt there. So I must be totally wrong :dunno:

Great buck. Looks like you snapped the pic just after he drank a Pabst.
:yeah: Nice!!!! Great Looking Buck!!!
-
That is a very good buck.
I have no idea where it was, but I love to see all the guys on HuntWA think that they know the specific location of every kill just by the background view!
People do it on every post of a big buck....oh that was by Yakima .....even if it was just outside Wenatchee. Quite entertaining if you ask me...
