Smokey and I came over for the archery whitetail hunt early ....5 days before the hunt. We scouted all day and found scrapes and rubs and put up 5 stands before the 10th. Smokey got a buck on the 11th. He had been ratteling some. So on the 13th I sat on that stand. It was 30 degrese with the wind howlin :yike: .I thought I wouldn't be able to stay out there for very long. sleet and snow pounded me up in the ladder stand and it was making cracking noise every time the wind hit my tree. :dunno:
About 7am a small buck came by at 33 yards. I grunted and he stopped. It was a forkie....We were going home on Sunday so I said...looks good to me! I drew my bow and let er fly! :archery_smiley: The buck droped and the arrow hit high...spine shot. He didn't go far but I climed down and did the follow -up shot. :IBCOOL:
I can't or don't know how to make the pictures smaller so no pictures yet, and at home the computer in put up for the new carpet instelation on Tuesday...so maybe a week unless charlie will do it???
Oh, Smokey's first whitetail too, and it's a good one 8 pointer.
