i just finished doing a european mount on my deer from this year. Was kinda curious on what kind of pedistal or plaque i should put it on. Also wanted to see how mine looks in comparison with yours since it is my first one. Would love to see pictures of your guys euro mounts!
Thanks guys

posted them just now :P

hey coop2424,
i like that plaque. And what did you put on the skull to make it look so shiny?
-Wildfire
-
The skull is actually one of the synthetic skulls. I cut it for a traditional mount before I decided I wanted it as a European so I bought one of the kits and had the horns put into it. Then painted it all white and I believe it is a gloss white and that is why it is shiny.
-
oh ok that makes sense. If i cant ever do a euro with a real skull i might think about what you did. It looks real good

Archery buck from a few years back

wastickslinger .... Thank you so much for posting that. I absolutely love that look and I am thinking that is what I want for my next mount. Where did you get the wood stand if you don't mind me asking?

Dad made me a few(one stained dark and one light). I told him he needs to patten it and sell them. I could take orders. :chuckle:
-
I need a bigger buck for that opening though. :chuckle:
-
Your dad does good work I would think he would be able to sell some of them. Yeah a little bigger would fit nicely in that opening...
-
Heres a few that I did last year....
-
Ooops.....just tilt your head :chuckle:
-
one from me

And a pedestal I made out of marble.

What are you guys doing to the antlers? My bull skull is about ready to get cleaned up and I like the wet look.
-
My first BT. Went with the aged barn plank look. Did it by opening up two eye bolts out of the garage and putting a little angle bend on them. wastickslinger your dad did an awesome job, I think I'm gonna ask my dad for some father-son carpentry time and learn to make one similar.
-
my first buck. by michelle.
-
Here's my first one. Did everything myself.
-
My first one I did it myself. It's my archery buck from this year. Going down to Central Oregon desert this winter to look for a pedestal of sorts to mount it on. Hopefully will find a nice Burl or Burnt snag to put it on.
-
How is everyone holding the skull to plaque??? :dunno: I was going to pre-drill and screw mine... Am I thinking correctly????
-
Yes that is how you do it. If you look closely you can see the screw on kanoopers.
-
If you use some bondo and bondo a block of wood in brain cavity then screw thru plaque!
-
Thanks you guys!!!! And all these mounts look great!! I really can't wait to move and get all mine together to "hang out".... :chuckle: Another month or so... :'(
-
They all look good will have to find pics of the ones I did.
-
Here is a few I have done and I'll post more later today
