I have some area on whidbey I can Hunt.I also have some area on Orcas I can Hunt.Smaller deer on Orcas, but cool messed up genes.Whidbey bigger Deer less area to hunt.Any suggestions?
-
I say whidbey and you can take me with you so I can fill my doe tag.
-
Im partial to Whidbey, seeing how I live there. There are some bigger ( not BIG ) bodied deer here, but I have seen alot of nice racked bucks in the past that were no bigger body size than a small dog. Never hunted orcas, so I cant really help you out on that one.
Good luck with what ever option you choose.
Now I just need late Muzzle to start so I can fill my two tags.

I have hunted the the islands quite a bit...hit Orcas Island for sheer numbers...meat for your freezer. But there is very little public land there. I have shot some nice bucks off of Widbey Island during the late season. I am a deer hunter and not a horn hunter...I am htting the San Juans in the morning to fill my second deer tag. First deer I see...dead deer and I will eat every piece..YUMMY

Just remember what I told you D-Rock. You can't take anyone else to my honey hole >:(
By the way, I took a nice buck out there this morning. :chuckle:

well robescc lets see some pics of that puppy. dont dangle that in front of me and not show me the pics. its like bouncing a tennis ball in front of a dog and not throwing it. lol. J/K congrats on the deer and good luck on what ever area you decide to hunt.

I got an archery tag i'd like to fill with a blacktail, not picky, pm me info if you want..

Ok. Here you go. Its not a monster but is better than tag soop. He had a doe with him. He had one eye guard but he broke it off at some point. This is the third deer from the same spot.

North or South end of the island?
-
I don't really know where I was. There were a whole bunch of old army barrecks around and he was standing in the middle of a soccer field :chuckle:
Just kidding. It was on the south end.
I did see a really nice 4x4 with his nose in a does butt about 10 yards from one of the old buildings at Fort Casey last year.

Cool, congrats. Yea, I have pictures of that Ft Casey buck. He is a dandy.
-
congrats on the buck. thats a nice island blackie

Here is one of the Ft. Casey bucks. Took his picture yesterday afternoon in the soccer field.
-
Nice! I wish a couple of them would swim over here and spread those nice antler genes...

DAMN THAT'S A GREAT ISLAND DEER!!! I heard they were midgets out there... :dunno: A friend of mine passed a nice 4 point because he thought he was shooting a baby.... This was 15 years ago or so though... :dunno:

I cant even find a doe right now, unless its at one of the parks. trust me, if I did, I wouldnt be preparing to eat my tags. Still some time left, maybe this weather will change a little. I know these crystal clear nights out are not helping our cause any.

I like Whidbey. Here is my buck I shot last night. I'm gonna post more about it tomorrow in the deer hunting forum.
-
Nice deer:) I deleted that last thread, my older boy wrote it! He just wants to find a doe. It has been a hard during the late season this year. Still have 9 days hopefully they can get one.

Nice deer Patton, I'd be excited to shoot that one anywhere.
