Ok guys, I did not shoot this duck, nor will I mention who did shoot it (I was not present on this hunt BTW) just had this picture sent to me. What kind of duck is it because I'm having trouble identifying it. It was shot in Northern Washington.

Looks like a drake greenwinger
-
Canvas back?
-
Canvas back?
Too small to be one, looks like it is sitting on top of a mallard for size comparison. Has a brown head, with the green stripe thing on it.
-
Don't laugh but it could be an Eurasian wigeon? I guessing it's the size of a teal, Because it looks like its next to a mallard... I'd say a teal or Eurasian???
-
gadwall
-
im guessing green wing by the way the head looks. its kind of hard with that picture to really get a good look at it
-
(http://C:\Documents and Settings\Shelly\My Documents\My Pictures\1\Green-wingedTeal.jpg)Looks like one of these little guys too me.
-
you guys are all wrong, i am not a duck hunter and i know it is a dead duck :chuckle:
-
Drake green wing.
-
tough to tell by the picture, but with the size I would agree with the GW Teal. The eurasian widgeon would be closer to the size of the mallard.
-
I've seen Eurasian wigeon (Juvenal) and they were a litte bigger than a teal. I thought they looked like a small canvas back... that's why i said it :twocents:

:yeah: X2
-
its one of these two... looks like an immature one or early season where it doesnt have all its plumage yet....
-
Green winger. Too small for a cinny.
-
That picture is marginal at best, but based on the picture, It is definitely a Green Winged Teal Drake probably in eclipse phase. Do you know what time of year it was shot? I'm guessing early in the season. Hope that helps. John

It appears to be a Green Wing Teal. Eurasion Wigeon is a lot larger. I have shot several of them.
-
Its a green wing teal...notice the black feathers on the breast they look like black dots...shoot like 384,093,284 More and maybe you will have enough for a meal ;)
-
Green Wing Teal. :twocents:
-
I know some one who shot one before because it came in with the mallards and they just assumed it was a mallard, I think it is some kind of bird that was bread with a canvas back. :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

No, I'm 100% sure its a green winged teal. They seem to be the only duck I have killed latley :bash:.
-
Sage grouse!
-
whistling duck? :dunno:
-
maybe its a miniaturized bald eagle.....in that case :bdid: for shooting it
-
99.99% Green wing teal....look at the top of the head you will see the dark band going across...then look at the other pic for reference...
-
albino hooting crow :twocents: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: GW teal
-
green winger!!! as 99% of everyone is saying
-
Vote for greenwing. Eurasian is completely out of the question. The bill is completely wrong for that.
-
Spotted owl / gadwall cross. We got tons of here on the coast :P

Bernier's Teal
