Title: WA Thanksgiving day archery buck.....
Post by: GoldTip on November 27, 2009, 06:45:28 AM: Not much of a story, he came in following a doe and caught me as I moved, spooked, but then decided I wasn't enough of a threat to give up on the hot doe he was following, and turned right around and came back. He was mistaken about my Guardian not being much of a threat. Thought he was a 4x4 when I shot him, turns out to be a 3x4 with a 2" sticker at his base of his left horn in the back so I guess a 3x5 total. The eye guards sealed it for me (or him) as I saw him come in. He went into a hell of a hole after the shot, thankfully Silent Bob was just a radio call away.

Yes he is. I'm making him pay this year, much like he did to me a couple years ago. He's having back surgery on the 7th, so I needed to get one more good drag outta him before that. ;)

Bad back or not, he has been with me on some great hunts and has always packed his or more than his share of the weight. But, he'll be back up and ready come next fall.
