We have a acess to a farm with lots of sitting ducks. Put out a winduk today and got a few. Tommorow we are going earlier and putting out some decoys. We have room for one more hunter that can call, we are new :P. The propety is in Snohomish county so let me know if you can help us. The farmer says there is hundreds of mallards every morning we saw plenty around 10am.

Well hey guess I'm late on this one! :chuckle:
-
thats very nice of you to invite folks to share your private access. post pics if you guys have any luck!
-
I am the lucky one :IBCOOL:
Will definitely take pics and post
-
Yeah Yeah don't rub it in. Will be thinking of you guys while I'm fishing pulling steelhead and salmon in from 2 minutes away from home! :chuckle:
-
I told myself I was going to work on steelhead this year since I missed most of it this year, but every chance I have to get out is really dedicated to ducks. I'm not giving up on ducks until I get a band!! additionally, I want mount worthy birds. a Woodie, pin, harli, and old squaw are on the list for this year ;) I got a decent pin drake a couple weeks ago, and located my harli, but the drake was a little young and I'm waiting for a seaduck trip I'm taking to hopefully bag the harli and old squaw together.

Yeah hear ya on staying hunting ducks. But live 2 mins off the skykomish river and there is some good fish running, so kinda hard to resist when it is right out your door! :)
-
tough decision :P bounty of ducks or bounty of steelhead...hmmm why is life so rough??
-
:dunno: But if this is what we call rough, can defenitly live with it! :chuckle:
-
i will take one of those steelhead dustin07 :chuckle:
-
Dang, i'm late on this one too. Oh well. And I hear you about the steelhead. Been fishin the cascade a bit and seen a few nice ones pulled outta there the other day. Can't wait till it gets hot.
-
How was the fishing? We had a good morning hunt took 7,could have been more. :dunno: This is my first year duck hunting I usualy steehead all winter. Snowman how far are you away from he Sultan launch? Ill have to take you out on my sled.
-
Thanks much for the hunt this morn Wagner and your right, we should have had more birds but fun anyway.
I'd like to go fishing with U guys too if you have an extra spot :hello:
-
oh for sure, I forgot to mention my new hunting buddy. PJB is a fun guy to hunt with if you get the chance.
-
"PJB" Does that stand for peanut jelly and butter?? :)
I think I'll take the steelhead, the family likes them better than ducks..... I once got a double on geese while trolling for salmon on the Umpqua River in OR, best of both worlds! The birds don't seem to flare away from fishing boats as much as they do camoed ones.
Congrats on the birds.
-
Yeah what the hell does PBJ stand for and is there 3 of you?
-
Thanks for the complement Wagner..
PJB3 is my initials and I am the 3rd, good call Wagner
I don't like peanut jelly and butter :dunno:
-
I'm about 15 minutes away from the sultan launch. Didn't catch one myself seen a few caught though. Was more or less goofing around with my fly rod. Would love to hit the river in a sled. Been awhile since I've been out on that stretch. :fishin:

man the hunting was hard and slow today. tossed 120 deeks for a reward of one immature wood duck. at least i got my first wood duck, LOL. Hard work on the water though... given, we passed up a lot of pass shooting, but even if we had gone after everything we probably wouldn't have had more than a total of 6 birds between the 2 of us.

Yeah did some checking around and seems a lot of birds flew south. The normal holes that hold a lot of birds were empty. But any day hunting or my case fishing is worth it.
-
My dad and I our looking for a buddy to hunt with Im only 13 but I can call really good!!!!
