I have found a Barska Rifle scope that I could get a very good deal on. Less than $100. The problem is that I know nothing about them. I was told by the seller that they rank up with Leupold. I don't know the exact model number but it is a 10-40 or 42 power illuminated reticle and 30mm tube. It looks to be in excellent shape. Good sound opinions please....

Al, I have a barska binoc I keep in the truck as a loaner....not the best gear in my opinion...but hey, folks have shot great animals with far worse optics...
Miles, your roaming cursor pointer thingy is highly irritating. Bet you knew that.... :chuckle:

Well, don't trust that particular salesman. They don't rank even close to a Leupold, Nikon, Bushnell/Buris, Jap/American made.
They are not bright at all. I have a 6-24x50 on a target .22 but I would not put one of their scopes on a quality hunting rifle at all. I had a Barska red dot on a rimfire gun for part of a Bullseye season. It didn't last.

I need a pooping on barska smiley.
I have had them, just as bad as bsa, kept losing zero and so did the second one. Got a Bushnell Legend for my 22 after that, not a problem since.
If you are looking for a decent high power low cost scope, try Mueller or Nikko. I have had both and for the cost have great optics. Not going to be a Nikon or Burris, maybe a step under, but they have a good following.

Pretty low end stuff.... not worth buttin anything but a 22 or air rifle IMO. Not even close to what the guy is claiming.
Check out the closeout Vortex Crossfires for 100 bucks. Way better glass, warrenty, etc.
