Went out this morning to a ranch we hunt a few times a year, my hunting partner and I got busy on these critters. Not really much to tell other than we killed'em as they came in from about 70 yards out to 230 yards or so. I missed the first one I shot at today right at 300 yards or so, just a touch high I guess. One had mange real bad, worst I've ever seen. One took two 125gr Nosler Ballistic Tips from my 308 and was finally anchored by my partner using my 25-06 and 90gr HP's. He also used his 270 and 110gr V-Maxes which really put the stop on a couple.
We've only been out two other times this season but the wind was blowing way too much so we gave up early, we'll give it another go maybe next week or so.
All in all, it was a good day.

Happy hunting.

I grew up with the Aikens and Ferringtons out at the Kapowasin airport (Old DZ). You shoot many critters close to home?

Tear'em up Matt.
I was hoping we would have had snow before now, it's tough for me to see'em when things are dry. If they are moving I'm good but otherwise I don't usually see'em very well, old eyes I suppose. I wanted to be back out today but it's my wifes birthday so I'll be good and do something with her for once :'(
We'll probably end up at the mall :puke:

Hey Carl,
Yeah, we had a good day, not many like that one. We did go back yesterday for a short bit and saw four more but the cattle were turned out into the area we had hunted and it made for difficult shooting, I really don't need to buy that much beef from a miss :dunno: Actually my wife went along also that was a real suprise but today is her birthday so no hunting at all.
We just got a dusting of snow last night so the plans may be just stay indoors and have a name calling contest :yike:
Sorry to hear about the neck fusion, will that make scooter riding a little more difficult? I'm looking into picking up another one but not real sure which way to go, I still cater to the sport touring side but with all of the dirt roads I have to travel on I suppose another V-Strom would work the best for me. There are miles of dirt roads that lead into Oregon and Idaho from here :4w: I love exploring that stuff.
I'm still working selling tractor parts, Life is good and the dogs are a plenty, just wish I had more time to go hunt'em. With the holidays it's still keeping me from getting out as much as I would like.
Anywho... have a Merry Christmas, chat with ya later.

Still wearing a neck bracce so not on teh Harley yet. I think it will be OK I am a little worried about lane changes, being able to turn my head far enough??!! but will see in a couple weeks. Those long east side gravel roads need a bike just for them!!! like a big flat tracker LOL, drift all the way to town.
See you later Gary, Merry Christmas
