No kidding.

Lol cause Leupolds are perfect and never have any issues
I've had 5 different Nikon Monarchs and have had zero problems.
-
Mine never have but if they do it's really easy to send them to Leupold in Oregon, turnaround time is often only 1 week. It will be interesting to hear how Nikon backs up their optics.
-
I'm a Leupold fan.. Don't get me wrong. I've got a couple Leupie scopes. But the boys have abused the Nikon Buckmaster scopes on their rifles and they've held up very well for the past four years. I've not abused them, but my Nikon binocs have done well too. Leupolds break too. Great customer services. I hope Nikon treats you just as well.

Leupold is the best in the business at replacing failed optics....they get the most practice.
Let us know how Nikon does...I have their higher end scopes and 'nocs and haven't found out yet.

I've heard that the CS at Nikon is lacking to say the least. Don't know for sure but have heard that. FWIW I own 2 or 3 nikon scopes and havent had problems other than the fact that they seem to take an unusual ammount of shots to get them sighted in. Just me? :dunno:

every leupold product i have owned has fogged up. i switched to nikon and everything has been perfect.
i sold my nikon scope to a buddie, and the very first time out the scope fogged up really bad. he sent it back to them and seems he over tightened the mounts, and warped the tube which caused a poor seal on the rear eye peice whiched caused the fogging.
had the same think happen to a cheap scope a few years back.

Huh? Something's wrong here. You must be talking about fogging up on the outside as ANY scope on the market will unless treated.
-
i only have burris & leopuld scopes and no problems with them :chuckle:   :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

Hope they stand behind it Buff. If not, give Leupold a chance. Even my low end Wind River binocs are superbly water/fogproof. Believe it or not, the suckers even float I found out by accident.
-
took it out today and no fog problems, so I'm not sure at what temperature it fogs up but regardless it going back, just waiting till after Christmas to see if i got the new scope i was asking for

I don't believe that anyone can honestly fault Leupold's service. They well even back their gold ring products if you buy them used. I have eleven Leupold scopes, some are 25 years old. None of them have ever had a problem. I do have other brand scopes but if I am going to hunt with it, it will have a gold ring on it.

leuy's service is fast, ask me I have used it 5 times. the longest turn times was about 15 days. every time it comes with a sorry letter and a list of what was fixed and current colomation setting.
the last time I simply broke one of the dials on one of my LPS scopes. I did not even have to send that one in, they mailed me two turrets.
is the CS good....yup. are leupold scopes the greatest in the world......not by a long shot in my book. I like that they are made close to home and priced fair, but I would never pull a zeiss or 4200 to put one on my guns....although I still have a few.

yup, 2 scopes and a pair of binos. the first scope was new vxII and the second one was a used scope but in good condition at least i thought. my friends dad bought both from me and sent them to leupold for a quick fast fix. the used scope had been dropped by the previous owner i guess. and the new scope never got a reason for being fogged up. it had only been used a couple times
the binos were brandnew and fogged up halfway through the season, and leupold said they were just defective and could not find any reason for them to be fogged up. so they gave me the choice of a new pair or credit towards another product
leupolds service is top notch, ive dealt with them 3 times and everything was very easy and fast service.
but after 3 issues in a couple season i made the switch to nikon. and havent had an issue. i just hope that if i do need service that they are as good as leupold.

Don't write off Nikon customer service yet. I sent in a pair of compact Nikon binocs for repair/replacement about 4 years ago after I started getting a double vision effect and they sent me a replacement. I had owned them for several years at the time. They told me I must have dropped them at some point (I don't think I did) which caused the problem. I think I paid about $20 for shipping/handling.
Let us know the outcome of your scope situation.

talked to Nikon today and will be sending my scope in after i get my tax return and by another nikon scope for my AR. i have no concerns with them taking care of the problem.

My rifle has a Leupold mark 4 on top of it and my binocs are Nikon monarchs. Both have been hunted hard in the rain with no problems.
