I hunted the Washougal unit really hard this year and didnt see any bear. After looking at the harvest numbers for last year I know why. There was a ton of bears taken out of this unit last year.
GMU 568-WASHOUGAL (Clark and Skamania counties):
2006 General Harvest = (Deer - 412) ( Elk - 47) ( Bear - 21) ( Cougar - 3) (Turkey - 0)
2007 General Harvest = (Deer - 384) ( Elk - 64)( Bear -16) ( Cougar - ?)(Turkey -0)
2008 General Harvest = (Deer - 377) ( Elk - 51) ( Bear - 41) (Cougar - ?) (Turkey -0)
You can find great areas along the Dole Valley rd. You can get up in the Gifford Pinchot NF lands, but they become much more rugged, but, when the snow line starts dropping, look for the deer and elk to follow the line.

A buddy of mine saw a flash of a bear just south of Three Corner last fall. I hunted it one evening and saw some bear sign, but that was the only time I checked into it.
I know this isn't much, but its all I got. I'm sure they're in there. Just have to find them.
