Well, it has been a buisey year this year and I havent had much of a chance to take time to post any pitures. Its back to mounting and finishing, the past 2 and a half months all I been doing was capping , flershing , and salting. Now I get to play catch up on about 8 mounts left over from last year :bash: Anyway, here is a nice little muzzleloader kill Roosevelt bull a client of mine killed. 2 months prior he had a stroke and decided he better get one mounted. If I remember right he has killed 26 elk and 16 are bulls, this one not being his biggest. Enjoy the pics. I even put up some close ups so you can see the detail work and cleanliness of my mounts.

Man Charlie.....you do some real nice work.

Its pretty cool when a mans work can be used as a reference instead of the real thing. VERY RARE

In my heart I think Charlie does the best elk work I have ever seen. AND BELIEVE ME, I ahve looked at a lot of elk mounts.

If Charlie lived closer I would farm Pathfinder Jr out to him as slave labor and hope he picked up some secrets... :chuckle: :chuckle:

Charlie:
Great work. It always a compliment to receive that kind of feedback from other taxidermist's.
Have you ever competed. You've got the talent
-
Great work Charlie! Ever think about relocating to the east side?
-
It's not the size of the rack; it's the quality of the mount...great job as usual!
-

Thanks Kudu ;) I went to 1 competition 2 years ago in Boise . I took a blacktail mount and took a second in the profesional division. I really didnt know what to expect. I was planning on going to a few this past year just didnt get a chance to get any competition mounts done, I was real buisy taking care of my 1 year old and building my new shop all summer. Id like to get to some more just for the seminars and all the helpful criticism you get from the judges. Ive used that criticism in my mounts I do know.
Thanks again for the comments!

nice work charlie, looks great

Excellent job, hope you apply that same talent to that moose you've got in the shop! No hurries on it, no pressure, just make it look as lifelike as those elk you do. :).
-
Great work Charlie! That's why you've got my business!
-
Wow really nice work, I wish I had a nice Bull to send your way..... I missed my chance at sending you a big mulie, oh well there always next year. How much to mount a really small bobcat??? I didn't even think you could hit one with a smoke pole. :dunno: Once again very good work.
