Anyone have any bright ideas for late season hunt on the rez. chukars, quail, pheas. I added a new setter to the kennel and I would like to give him a chance to make some finds. I am new to this forum, I live to watch pointing dogs run big and work birds. This season was slow due to work and a leg injury, was able to hunt chukar in Idaho in the early season. I have not been able to get out much. Any help you guys could give would be great, Thanks. Happy hunting.....holidays

CASH......You might have better luck on this site if you go to the intro thread and tell a little about yourself. Being that this is your first post and your asking for info on areas to hunt, if you share a little info you will find that some on here will usually do the same. Good luck and I hope your dog does well.

NWBREW.....Thanks for the tip. I have posted under the intro thread. If I offended anyone by just trying to get your hunt areas, I am sorry. That was not my intention. I was looking to hook up with someone and share some spots and maybe hunt together. Thanks

CASH, go to, ynwildlife.org. It gives the seasons and a lot of information where to hunt. The 31st is the last day for pheasants, but quail and chucker go into next month. The tribe has worked hard to make the Rez to go to place for pheasants, well worth the trip. Welcome to the site.

Late in the season, dogs that range out won't get many birds (pheasnts) in my opinion. They are super wild this time of year, often jumping if you pull your rig too close to the field. Just my opinion, I hunt the rez a lot. Hunt toward the river for quail. Huge coveys and lots of them.

Kwackwacker and I got 14 quail today on the rez.

I am thinking about heading over this weekend, Jan 1-2.
Is the res closed for pheasants?
WA DFW says Jan 18 for E Wa pheasants?
Are they holding tight in the snow or flushing 100yds out?
Curious if it's worth the drive.
Thanks,

You might want to avoid the rez because it closes tomorrow. And no, the pheasants aren't holding any tighter. An inch of snow doesn't do much. Six inches is a different story.
