good buy. time to go scope shopping

sounds good to me.....I bought a Rem. model 700 BDL in 270 back in oct. for 415.00. It was manufactured in 1965 and is in excellent cond. As for scope....how much do you want to spend is the question. :chuckle: :chuckle:

I've got a Leupold VX-III 4.5X14X40 on my 7mm right now but I think I'm going to swap it with a 3.5X10X40.
I like that 14X for shooting long range but the field of view is to small at 4.5 for getting on target fast at close range and staying with a moving target in the timber. So if your taking opinions on scope choices my vote is for a Leupold VX-III in 3.5X10X40 or in second place a VX-II in 3X9X40. Mt rem 700 in 7mag is the first rifle I grab from the safe weather I'm hunting deer or elk, or just going to punch rocks at long range.
162gr A-Max's for fun and 160gr. Accubonds for drawing blood.

I'd look for a scope for around 349.00. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

If its in good shape, good buy! Now look for a Leupold vxII! Congrats on your new rifle!

how many rounds have been through it, did you have the barrel scoped? sounds like an alright deal as long as it is not tumbling bullets. if it is well you still got a good action to build another one :chuckle:
