Title: new rest is beyond me
Post by: littlebuf on December 25, 2009, 11:26:47 AM
well i got the spot hog whammy i wanted for Christmas but installing it is beyond me and i really don't want to screw it up. so far the two archery shops i went to before Christmas didn't sound real enthusiastic about installing it for me. that's not really the way i want my equipment to be received just because of somebodies brand loyalty or what ever. there was some guys on here that had some good stuff to say about this rest, could somebody help me with a place to go or if you know how to set it up. willing to pay for your time or obviously would pay a bow shop to set it up. thanks

Now there's a great offer!  Pay attention as they're working on it, because there will be plenty of knowledge flying around while they're tinkering on it.

Thanks littlebuf.  I have a lot of leeway on how I run the archery department, so I don't usually charge labor on small set ups even if they come from another store.  Also, I feel that every sporting good store has basically the same inventory, but at Wholesale Sports we have superior customer service.

I can vouch for that!  Both Larry and Ryan provide super customer service.  This is how to run a business.  Doesn't matter what your product or service is.  Ok, I'll stop there before I write a dissertation on the topic. :)

why dont you say the name of the shops so we know and possibly question them about it or bring our business elsewhere

i thought about doing just that, but i wasn't treated poorly i was just given the impression that yeah they would do it but not really want to with this particular equipment. it wasn't as bad as the standard gun shop attitude you run across all the time. and in one of the shops one guy actually bs'd with me for a while. i don't want  to call out any shop on a particular feeling i got, i was just looking for a shop that seemed like they really wanted to work on/help me with my bow and equipment if that makes sense. looks like i found one in federal way

went up to wholesale sports today to see Larry and Ryan and Ive gotta say that was the best experience Ive had with a pro shop to date be it a bow shop or a gun shop. top notch guys and loads of experience. this will be the only place i go for my archery needs and because of this experience i will look to whole sale sports for my other out door needs first. think i may send a letter into management there to express the same thing. you guys should get recognition from your store for the way you run the archery department ( I'm sure you do already). thanks again guys, the bows shooting great. came home and broke my first golf tee at 25 yards. loving it

Best I've found littlebuf, being new to archery it's been cool to go somewhere and actually get an explanation of archery products, how something works, pro's and cons' of various designs, etc. Despite buying my first bow used from a private seller they still took the time to set it up and tune it for me for free. I hadn't even shot a compound till I brought it in and they took the time to show me how and get me set in the basics. Far better than the level of customer service I've received anywhere else.

Usually get help from Ryan, don't think I've met old dog. Unless your the old guy that talks and not the quieter one lol, then we've met.  :chuckle:
