Title: how often do you leave your trail cameras out?

just got my first trail camera and im looking to see what the critters are up to when im gone.

I do my best not to leave my sent in the area anymore though, the cougar I killed last year walked right up to my trail camera and smelled it, then put its nose to the ground and started following my trail right toward my blind :yike: . Glad I was awake to see her coming :IBCOOL:

Post by: javman on December 29, 2009, 07:37:39 PM: I like to leave mine out 2-4 weeks at a minimum. But most of the time, they're a long ways from home, and then a several mile hike. If I find a spot close to a road and I don't know if anyone else frequents the area, then I'll try to check it weekly for a while until I know if it's safe or not.
