I was goofing off and brought in this fella. I have to admit when I first spotted him I thought it was a cougar coming in. I was paying most attention to getting a picture, the correct settings and everything. I kept thinking man this is a big bobcat. Man he sure is Lynx like. MAN this is a big bobcat. I honestly didn't get much time or attention of studying him. I knew I'd have to go back and look a thte pics. Then I was talking to an Innkeeper and he mentioned his wife saw a big cat that she thought was a lynx, but because of where, figured it was a bobcat. I asked whereabouts and it was in the same spot about a week earlier. That got me thinking all the way home...what if. :chuckle:
Biggest damn housecat I've ever seen :chuckle:

I told my better half that you shoot bobcats and wolves anytime just because your "bone". She asked why so I said you shoot them like this- and showed her a pic. It went right over her head till I started laughing. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Yeah, some of these critters are kinda lucky I only carry a piece of glass.

You must be a better shot with a camera than a gun, or have some kind of affliction. You see the coolest stuff, some in season.... what is your secrete to your restraint? Or have you already killed everything?
-
:chuckle: This one was tempting as he was about as big as a bobbie can get. Man he was a dandy. But...thats pretty much it. No need to kill one, I still have one in my freezer to mount. :)
-
where's the bullfrog tadpole he caught in the snow?
-
THIS IS A HOUSE CAT :chuckle: :chuckle:
Great pictures Bone, and thanks for sharing! :)
-
Where is Dman when we need him :chuckle:?
-
:chuckle: :chuckle:

He killed all the neighbor hood cats!

All I know is the more I look at these pictures the more I wish I had pulled the trigger. :chuckle:
-
Gorgeous cat. I'd have tanned his pretty hide.
-
Hes not as spotted as many of them are up in that neck of the woods. I tried to get some running pics of him but the light was too low for stop action. I should have tried for him again yesterday. Apparantly he has been there for a week or more.
-
That is definately not a house cat!
-
I would not have been able to hold off the trigger if this kitty was called in or at least if I was out 'hunting'. If this kitty is a regular sight as you drive down the road, I dunno. You see a whole lot more wild game than I do so I understand your self control. He'd make a great trophy though. Nice color and .. A fat little bugger.
-Steve
PS.. We have a 22 pound house cat. Your wild critter there looks bigger. :dunno:
-
I keep coming back to look at the pictures
excellent shots Bone

I am with Jack on this one...how did you not shoot that one :o :o beautiful cat
-
Very nice pics, bone.
-
the hide woulda made alot more money than the pics will ;)
-
Wow again, beautiful picture bone! The more time I spend on the Photography forum the more hooked I get with my camera. I just wana go out there and take pics. Do we get to see the wolf pic :dunno:
Awesome pics as always, THANKS!
-
True story Hound. I wouldn't sell him though. He'd cost me a rug. :chuckle: Besides, someone else will get a thrill out of him I am sure. If I went around and shot everything I could, there would be alot less hunting out there for folks.

I believe that.
I look at these pictures over and over. I love that you pass up so many critters but I know I could never have that kind of self control. :chuckle: You ever thought of doing one of those slideshow screen savers?
-
More really cool pictures Bone, your patients and control must only be matched by your fuel bill :chuckle:. Thanks again for sharing a great set of photos.
-
:jacked:
The cool thing is that Doug has the opportunity to shoot with camera trigger so often. Even cooler is that he chooses to share his tallent with the rest of us. I am sure that if many of us had the work schedule and other blessings at hand that he has, we would also learn to practice 'conservation' just as he does. I would really hope I could have such self control.
Right place at the right time, he's even shared Wolf pack photos in short time. My son says that we should send him out after BigFoot.
Bet we'd have photos in a week! :chuckle:

boby for sure

Those are great pics Bone, looks like the one I saw today down by the beaver ponds on the Twisp-Carlton Rd. I don't know how you do it, your in the right place at the right time, and real stealthy about it. Great job you take great pics Bone. ;)
-
All that camera gear must break up his outline. :chuckle: I think the animals can sense danger though. If he was going to kill them he would never see them. At least that is how it works for me. Could not find a deer during season to save my life. Next weekend same area, saw 8. :dunno: They knew I couldnt shoot them...Im sure of it. :P
-
that last pic.... he's on to you... I'd RUN ?
-
Thanks guys! I appreciate all the nice comments. My fuel bill is a little scary sometimes.

Those are some great pics.
