Well went out yesterday afternoon to check how deep the snow was out north of my place, while driving down 1 of the wheat road I seen a coyote standing in the field. I stopped and and took a shot but missed of course and while getting back into my truck I looked up the road and there was a rooster standing there, back out of the truck with my shot gun and across the snow I went (5 to 6 inches of hard crust). Well 45 min. later after pushing the draw he finally flushed and I got him.
Now I have lived in the Waterville area for a long time and this is my 2ed one I have ever seen up on the plateau. I hope they come back, but for that to happen the coyotes, bobcats need to go away

Nice looking surprise for sure :EAT:. It would really be nice to have them come back a lot of places. Predators are a major problem for sure, but habitat is just about as bad. Atleast you get to appreciate the ones you get the chance at.

:yeah: Nice lookin rooster

Maybe if you did't shoot him he would have survived the cpyote and reproduced :chuckle:.

Only the 2nd one you have ever seen and you shot him? Why? They don't grow on trees. We need to think before we act, so we don't become our own worst enemies.
