Hey folks thought you might enjoy this.
A customer of mine found theses sheds on his property and wanted them mounted. I'm not an official scorer but like most of you can get a pretty good idea of gross scores. I taped the left side at 179 and the right at 175 and change. Now realizing that they are sheds i estimated a 36in inside spread that I felt was pretty conservative. By my estimation that ranges this bulls score at about 390 and I would bet the spread was a little wider than I gave them credit for but due to the conventional shed mounting system I was constraint by design. :dunno:
These were on the ground about 7 months before Val found them so I know the colore looks a little dark. Most of the brow tines were missing (chewed) and allot of the left main beam. I had to color them a little darker than I would have liked to hide the repairs.
Anyway Enjoy
Jeff

Nice work Kudu.Mark

Whopper antlers!!! :yike:

Nice work as usual

I think sheds get a 40" credit for elk

Thanks and I think your right on the 40 inch credit I have mounted elk with spreads as high as 50 inches and as low as 30. When mounting sheds spread is a subjective issue. I start at 36 and see how they look and go from there.
With a 40 inch credit theses sheds are getting dangerously close to 400 gross :yike:
Thanks
Jeff

Nice mount Jeff. I wish I can find sheds like that. John

It looks good from this distance. :o

Thanks guys:
I guess I could have included a few close up's .....I thought of leaving the antlers out of the pic but that would have been a :bdid:
Customer already picked up the mount or I would put a few more pics on here.
Thanks for the business Val

Sorry I couldn't go whack dogs last month but things have been crazy in the shop. It's starting to settle down now and I can actually relax.
Thanks for the nice remarks. you should take some pics of the mounts I did for you and post em up. Make sure you groom them first so they look respectable :chuckle: :chuckle:
Thanks

If I ever learn how to operate a camera I will! I love seeing my antelope and deer that you did every day, and I wish I had 'Hairy" up here with me too! Keep up the good work! It's probably a good thing you didn't go......I missed twice >:( Next time I go though I'll holler at you. :hello:

Awesome, man what a bull. I can't tell you have done any repair work it looks super natural.

Thanks

Nice mount! My Peola "A" bull had a dark rack also, your color is very close if not right on. They must rub against some dark stuff in the Blues.
-
Very nice work!!! Thanks for posting the pic!
-
That loos great. I am not sure I could justify mounting sheds however.

Believe it or not I'm getting more and more inquiries for mounting sheds than ever before. I would attribute that to the odds of drawing a local tag. It's awefully hard to go out and consistently see 370 class bulls and know that the chances of drawing a tag are slim. So when shed hunting season comes around and your picking up set after set of monster bulls you start thinking about mounting them. That's exactly what happened in this case.

post some pics man!

Good looking mount, just love looking at that brute. When I'm down toward Dayton I would like to see your shop. :) :) I've got around a 330" I need mounted. :) :) DF John
