About 10 or 12 years ago the wdfw planted some turkeys in the area of the blue creek trout hatchery on the Cowlitz. Were they all shot up? I know of a couple of guys that killed some birds in there, but now they are all gone. Does anyone know what happened to them, or I am just no seeing them. I do know that nobody hunts down there anymore.

Most of those birds have moved onto private land. I hunt there each year, lucky for us we hunt the private land. There is some state land in and around there, but most is land locked. If you can build a relationship with a landowner, that always helps.

My dad lives right across from the fish hatchery and we have them running around over there in his yard occasionly and all over up on the layton prarie... never hunted turkey's and don't intend too either...

When I think Blue Creek Turkeys, I think Chewelah. :) Sorry, no info for this one.
