Our first shoot of the year, come on out and shoot our 30 target 3D course. Must shoot both days for trophy's, but if you can't make it out for both come on out for either day! Camping is available! Saturday shoot anytime between 8 and 2. Sunday is a shotgun start, be there by 0830 for assignment. See our flyer in this months quiver at http://washingtonarchery.org/cp/Scripts/ASP/discuss/forum/uploads/7/January_2010_Quiver.pdf

We had a great time last year. Reinheart targets, great setup and awesome views and bald eagles flying overhead all day. We will try to make it again this year.
-

A lot of improvements to the course. C'mon out and have some fun.
-
I heard they built a bridge across the mud :) ....
-
We built 2 walkways, one around #2 which had the mud, and again by #31 which gets "swampy". :)
-
Shoot is tomorrow and Sunday! Hope to see lots of you there.

Darin,
Think in BHFS it was a 308... or close to that. 225 was high score for Trad... then a 322 for youth FS.
Shootmore, no worries just come on out and see me tomorrow.
-
Great shoot today guys. Had a good time thanks
-
Today was fun... course played pretty tough! See everyone up at Wilderness next weekend! Don't forget first leg of the Buckleshoot!
-
course played pretty tough
sure did, burned up my 2 giligans in the first 3 targets :P
You guys still post up scores on your web sight?
-
course was pretty tough :( jessica was a little bummed on saturday. she lost or broke 3 arrows. just a suggestion, maybe not so many longer shots, no forty yard booboo, makes it way to hard on beginners and they dont have fun
-
Scores will be posted on the website later today. Hunter, course was easy on Saturday! If you shot booboo for 40 on Sat that was a tad long... ;)
-
i 10 x'd it. it just seems a bit dificult for beginers. jessica had a tough go of it. i had fun and will be back but i cant speak for jess. she thought it was to tough
-
Should be a disclaimer at the start of the shoot which I have heard before out at the Whidbey shoot before.
"If your not comfortable with the shot or the distance or both MOVE CLOSER have fun and just keep your score card in your pocket"
Keep bringing your women along just encourage her to shoot from the blue stake and test her limits from the red when its a Buffalo or a Elk. Remember most of these shoots on Saturday are for flights and fun and scores do not count for poop.
More you shoot the better you get ;) keep her and any other beginner coming just move them up to the next stake until they can make it through a course with all there arrows.
-
well it is what it is apparently. at the risk of sounding like an ass, it was set up pretty tough for a fun shoot. i know i'm not the only one that feels this way. i heard it from more then a couple people on sunday. i'm not a member though so i guess it doesnt matter.
-
Sunday is always a little tougher. My score actually increased by 30 points. We try to make it realistic hunting practice and challenge the top shooters. Most people come to have fun, expecially on Saturday what hunt4 said is very true, new shooters can just move up to where they are comfortable, have them shoot from the blue and shoot for fun! Funny thing is I had a several comments that Sunday we had too many easy targets... LOL Now I wouldn't go that far..... Most shots 30-45 yards for wheels, with only a few at 45-50 range all on big targets such as the buffalo and elk.... I will admit there was some shots you had to be able to "thread" between trees, similar to hunting?
-
making more like hunting situations is what makes it fun.
-
hey for the buckle do you have to shoot both days for points to count toward final score
-
It is a total score for all 3 legs, just the Sunday scores count. The flyer states must shoot all 3 dates (which are Sundays) but call Roger at Wilderness Archery to make sure!
