It's the Warden Coyote Roundup. Put on by the Warden Lion's Club. I went last year, not going this year. The banquet was fun, good food, everybody gets a drawing prize, some are really good, a Weatherby Varminter, etc. But it's not a "Calling" contest. It's just a Coyote death derby.  Most of the Coyotes killed are run down with trucks and spotlights and die in a hail of bullets. Turned me off. That's fine, I don't take offense or anything, but it's not hunting. And it's the only time of the year that the basin is overrun with Coyote hunters. Just not fun for me. I'd rather be out all on my lonesome finessing them in with howls and distress.

Just me. Nothing wrong with it, just not my style.
