went out to jump my favorite last hour ditch tonight and jumped up a group of ringneck ducks. killed to drakes, both dead before they hit the water :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
I know I have never seen any ringnecks around here but has anyone else? im thinking there pretty rare, atleast on this side of the state.
ill post pictures as soon as i find my camera or figure out how to upload pics from my phone

Not that rare around Lake Terrell. I lived in Ferndale for 7 years and they were fairly common and unlike some diving ducks, very good to eat!

There are a lot of them in the area. They are some fast flying little buggers. I pass them up when they come buzzing through the decoy spread. If your going for a limit, a ducks a duck if your willing to eat it.

That all we pretty much got last year was pintails and buffleheads. It seems like they liked the thicker brush areas near open fresh water. Thats at least what we noticed.
