Shhhh. There are no deer around here. Any deer that are here are on private property and they are dinky.
By the way that is a solid buck!!! Great job to the hunter!!
-
That kid looks like wastickslinger when he was about 14 :chuckle:
-
Thats going to be a tough one to beat. Nice buck!
-
nice buck :o

My buddys archery and taxidermy shop, has a royal city buck in for a mount, just like that one only a little bigger, it has better backs, looks like there were some nice deer running around there last season. Congrats to the young hunter.

Royal City is in Montana for all of those looking for a place to hunt next year. ;)

thanks coonhound I know I need to learn and even tried this time but failed. John Wayne said once that being stupid should be painful well rest assurred it is! JB

too bad about the cape.... what a waste of a great trophy and a even greater first buck.
-
Royal City.....I thought that was somewhere near Spanaway or Omak or was that Tonasket.......ah hell....I always get those great deer spots mixed up. :chuckle:

That's one of them Desert spill over bucks. At least that's what we were calling them a few years ago even though we couldn't find any.
-
sweet buck. Its gonna be hard for him to top his first buck

Same thing I was thinking every once in awhile one of those desert bucks steps over the line!
-
No way! There is an electric fence around the whole dang unit.

I've been hunting in Royal City for the past 4-5 years, mostly on youth hunts and the early muzzleloader seasons. I took all of these deer with my .243 Winchester. All within 100 yards. Here are my 4 deer taken out of there:

People, people, get this idea that there are deer near royal city out of your head. while there are a few in the desert unit consider it to be an island of deer in the middle of an ocean of no deer. Wastickslinger is right they dont exist around there
-
Nice buck cape is smoked.
-
He definatley has those desert buck genes running through him. Thanks for the deep pics Cougar. Those all grain fed tasty venison?
-
The only thing I ever got out of Royal City was a chubby girlfriend for a week and a speeding ticket...
-
:chuckle: so she was grain fed too huh?

Hey, that's my buck! Sweet!
Coonhound, where did you get the pic? It spread around pretty around pretty quick over here (some people in Yakima even heard about it), but I had no idea that it would cross the mountains. Cool.
How do you guys think it scores? I haven't talked to the taxidermist in a while and he hadn't scored it at that time.

I actually emailed coon the pic. I recieved it through a friend whos wife works with you uncle I believe. pretty arky sounding connection huh? JB
