Title: FREE Springer to a good home
Post by: Sneaky on January 21, 2010, 09:55:29 AM
A buddy of mine is going through some rough times and has to get rid of his 2 year old springer. I agreed to help him out and hold onto it until we could find a new home for it. It's a fixed male named Whiskey.  his parents are out of a kennel in Canada that I can't recall the name of... I've hunted over him, his father, and his sister and those dogs can hunt! This dog loves to fetch but doesn't get to hunt very often and hasn't been trained to hunt. The day I hunted over him he locked up on quail without hesitation and he had never been trained for it, it just came natural. I would keep him but I already have too many dogs! I felt like if I posted on here maybe I could find somebody that could hunt him. He has a very mild temper and loves to fetch/play and I see some serious hunting potential. If you'd like to know more  call me at 425-495-0291 or PM me. Pics to come.

Thanks

Are you sure it's a Springer? They're not pointers, they're flushers. Not saying it's not possible one might point a bird occasionally, just checking. I know my Golden Retriever would point pheasants once in a while.

Being the one that picked him up, I'll attest to the fact that he's a Springer.  Once we took him to some water, it was difficult to get him out of :)  After our first hunt, I will post new pictures of him with the birds.
