All my triggers now have a pretty bright red coat on them. It makes me feel like a "sexy bitch" when I pack my rifles now. :chuckle: Not sure who taught me to use finger nail polish :dunno:I like howa actions even when they say weatherby on them but I cant get over thier crappy triggers. I've messed with a couple and gave up.
any idea how to adjust a Howa trigger?
Replace with a timney or rifle basix.
The aftermarket triggers are great and most of the time a drop in install, at the worst a light filing on the stock next to the safety.

The trigger is crisp enough, just breaking at 4 1/2 or so lbs. I will play with it and see if i have any luck. I bought it hoping to keep on a budget. $399 .22-250 with a scope I had on hand. I was hoping to really not spend more money on this one, but oh well. Shoots good so far, but I need to practice more and try some longer distances.

do you guys know if the articles about the model 70 triggers are for the newer guns FN is making? I read something about the new one i got that has an allen head screw in front of the trigger but it will only go down to 3 pounds. its set at 3.5 stock and it feels like crap to me cuz all my guns are set about 1.5 to 2 lbs.
I'm supprised, I have shot 2 of the new Model 70's now with the MOA trigger. I have to say its one of the nicest feeling factory stock triggers I have shot in a long time. The 2:1 mechanical advantage and the wider trigger make it feel much lighter than the 3.5 pounds I was pulling. No creep or overtravel whatsoever as far as I could feel. I was also impressed with the fit and finish on the rifle. It reminder me more of the older Win's in quality. I don't own one "yet" but once the lap firing is done I hope to get some more trigger time on these guns to see how the accuracy is. If its as good as I hope, I see one or two in my future.
I should note both were the extreme weather with the Bell and Carlson sythetic stock. One in 270 wsm and the other in 243.

the guy didnt beleive me when i was checking out of the BX with only a bottle of red fingernail polsh when i told him it was for my guns. got some strange looks.
I get that look alot when I pick up a couple bottles of clear polish at the store for tying my jigs.

i have the 243 in extreme weather. I like it so far. The trigger does feel awesome but it feels like i have to put way too much pressure on it than what i am used to. I believe i'm going to do some shooting today so i will shoot it again. I'll try adjusting it down to 3lb and see if that helps.

Let me know what you think on the accuracy of the gun. My buddies are getting pissy that I keep bugging them about getting the lap fire done so I can shoot some groups with there guns ;)

sorry. went shooting with the neighbors and they just wanted to go plinkin so we just shot 22's and the pistols. Found a bloated cow in the log jam at the river to shoot at.......that was awesome.

I can't find anything online except that you have to remove the action from the stock to do the adjustments. It also said there was a section in the owners manual on how to do the adjustments. I'll dig into one of my buddies guns and look but it won't be until this friday before I can get ahold of one.
