i thought you of all people would be able to recognise a elk bone, I'm a little disappointed
-
what do you we think we got for a spread on the ears here. 1.1" or so. I would also go with bench with that guess. Would have to be more like 1.3 to be mulie.
-
Note his Roman nose.......he has probably fathered at least a 1,000 future trophies.
-
Rasbo wants to skin him, Michelle wants to help. 8)
...and I think Longtat wants to eat him :chuckle:
-
:chuckle: :chuckle: Too funny...
-
Looks like a Minnie
-
So you are saying that they cross the PCT and inter breed? Blasphemy! :P
-
Looks like WT's to me.
-
Looks like an elk and a 650+ pound yearling at that :chuckle:
-
Its a BT.. I'm sure of it.. the spread on the ears is to small.
-
if its a BT then what is this?

Don't show this to him, he might think it's a gerbil :yike:
-
I've been more then tempting to shoot those little buggers!!! Every time I walk by a rock slide they scream like crazy letting every deer or elk know somethings up.... :chuckle:
-
Thats not a pica Kows. Thats a bonified large eared field mouse. Note the 6'5" guy was getting good and low on the stalk.
Sorry Kows....I couldn't see th Pica pic while I was at work.
-

You mean Cascade Blacktail? :P
-
I don't like to spread rumors but I hear Iceman poaches a lot of those things. :P
-
He could shoot it off the hood of his truck at my house if he wants. I won't tell and one of you guys can pick up the skull too if you want.
-
Good eats :cue:
-
Definitely a mature blackie, I see swollen tarsal's, must be rutted up something fierce... I've seen two mature blackie's like that recently going toe to toe over a doe, they must have pushed each other 3-4 inches, amazing power in those critters. :chuckle:
-
I vote Whitetail!
-
I got one of those on a high hunt (top shelf in the garage) this year. Brutal pack - I had to stand on top of the step ladder to get him out.
-

oooooh i am callin that pic in, 10 points comin down, i can almost smell that big bull tag
-
You're only half way there, you'll need at least another 10 to even be in the running. You might have enough fro a cowtag now though. ;)
-
Amatuers........try sneaking up on a whole herd of them. I know, I know...it's dangerous but you gotta do what you gotta do to get the shot. Luckly they were bedded and didn't see me coming. :chuckle:

I used to trap them, now my girls have 2 rats that they got for x-mas. Now I'm paying to feed them on purpose. Its surprising how smart Rats are, and affectionate, who would'a thought :chuckle:
-
Bone do you have a picture of the tail? The only way you can honestly tell a true blacktail is by the tail. It has awfully big ears maybe it's a benchleg!!! :chuckle:
-
Everyone is SO opinionated on how you hunt these things. It's MY way or the highway, you say. Well, I think that we all need to stick together - whether you're trapping them, whacking them with sticks, poisoning them or whatever. The anti-mousers are just trying to divide us... :chuckle:
I'm pretty the one I got was a benchleg.
-

Yes. I'm pretty. Pretty ugly. *censored*. It sucks when your fingers fail to follow orders. Sometimes it can land you in jail, even.
-
Sorry halflife65....I couldn't help it. :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
This is a good one :chuckle:

This is my current shed antler collector. I figure it will swing up and over his head and remove his antlers for me.

There is controversy on here whether or not baiting is a legit hunting tactic. I was somewhat against it only in th efact I hadn't tried it, so I decided to take a gander. Sure enough, the buck walked right up to my bait station and I snapped a pic. I need to work out the trail cam though as laying there on the ground waiting got to be kinda uncomfortable.

Great pics. In the past, when I've been my own trailcam, I've taken a barbeque, radio and a lawnchair. It really helped to pass the time. Of course, I've never posted a pic in the trail cam section...
Hehehe...this is continuing to get better. The pics are great but your commentary is pissing my wife off because I'm laughing loud enough to bother her.
-
came across this muley piebald while deep in the confines of the shed
-
Obviously photoshopped rasbo.... not a chance that is real! :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
confines of a shed............SOUNDS LIKE A HIGH FENCED HUNT to me.
