Well it has past the 60 day drying period for my 09 buck so I thought I would make an attempt to score it up
On the G1 in the picture did I mark the correct spot for measuring?
what about g2, g3, g4 and abnormal?

What picture?
-
no pics? I can see them i will try again
-
try one more time

Well, I can see the pics now anyway. Looks like a great buck...

Not quite right there. Great buck, BTW. Give me a call sometime and I'll explain the process for establishing baselines. From there you should be able to rough it out. Tom: 360-870-7264 Cell.

To qualify as measurable, any projection has to meet two requirements: 1) It must be at least one inch long from the tip to its junction with any other antler structure; and 2) at some location along its length (but not within one inch of the tip), the point must be longer than it is wide. So the initial step in measuring whitetail antlers is to establish "baselines" for all possible points and to "qualify" suspect points. Determine point bases by draping the
quarter-inch tape over the point at its junction with the other antler structure and marking the baseline so that it coincides with the edges of the host beam or point.
I think I am getting it now :dunno: I might get a few more eighths out of it.
bow4elk i still might give you a call thank you for the offer.
Here is a pic of the rack

I am not a cert. measurer but i believe you might be cutting yourself short on the g-1 and g-2. I believe you need to follow the main beam on the back side and measure down the center of the tine (backside) to where it meets the line that follows the main beam. That is how all of mine were scored by cert. measurers. Someone like bow4elk would know for sure.

Kind of like this but on the backside of the antlers. If I am wrong...someone please correct me.
