Title: weatherby vangaurd 243
Post by: madmack76 on January 27, 2010, 08:49:00 AM: they got a weatheby vangaurd on sale around town for 500 with a scope anybody got any storys good or bad was thinking of buyiny it for my daughters first deer rifle but dont know much about them

that sums it up. i would replace the scope myself. the rifle is a great rifle they shoot very good as well. also you might check out tikka along the way about the same money and i like them a bit more.

Post by: Mookie on January 27, 2010, 11:54:14 AM: A lot of the Vanguard packages come with a Nikko Stirling scope, if it does you most likely will not have to replace it, they are nice scopes, depending on the line. I had one and regret selling it.

Post by: demontang on January 27, 2010, 12:26:31 PM: Love the vanguard. That package should have a bushnell 3-9x40 on it which isnt that bad of a scope. The msrp is around $700 if its the packed with the scope and gun case.

The Howa's have the nikko scope
