I've had it with Eastern Washington elk hunting! I refuse to buy another "true spike" tag. Goin' Westside. I was planning on scouting the Stampede Pass area for early archery but am unfamiliar with the area. Anone have any helpful info on this GMU? Mostly curious about hunting pressure in September.

I hear it gets lots of tribal pressure in August AND September. :o :bash:

It is a big big area so make sure you get good maps, second it has a lot of hunting pressure and can get really thick and nasty in spots(usually where the elk seem to be in the archery season)the elk numbers aren't real high but there is a good amount.Get maps and go scout you can't do any worse then the rest of us that hunt the east side :chuckle:

I would start near the old town of Lester. I'm sure if you do some scouting you'll get into some elk. Beware of the watershed boundaries though.
