Title: Going Steelheadin on the Clearwater
Post by: Machias on February 10, 2010, 11:44:32 AM
My company bought 8 guided steelhead trips on the Clearwater River with Swiftwater Outfitting.  I was one of the lucky ones to be drawn.  Going down Sat....can't wait!!!  I'll take a few photos and report back!

My dad and i are gonna be headed down there in a couple weeks hopefully and try.  Love catching steelys out of a drift boat. Good luck and cant wait for a report.

Good luck Fred!!  Here's a prayer for decent weather.

The last time I launched with Bryan Miller out of Swiftwater Outfitting it was 6 degrees, brrrr, forecast for Saturday is 51 degrees and mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of rain.  :)

Watch Quinault and make your decision....Clear water will gauge like the Hoh so watch it for CFS on USGS. It drops way faster though. Looks like you have to travel to get here.

I'll ask and look while I'm over there.  I know in the Saint Maries area there is not much snow at all.

It's been warm (upper 40's low 50's) and partly cloudy the past couple days in Lewiston/Clarkston.  It started sprinkling tonite.  The weather guessers say it's supposed to clear up by Sat.  There's still some snow in the upper elevations.
