Does anyone use a pre-set torque wrench to tighten down their scope base and ring screws? I just use the old stand by of tighten by hand until they are tight. The only time I have witnessed a torque wrench used the scope slipped within 10 shots. Any input or comments appreciated.

I have developed a pretty good feel for what a scope will take. much of which has come at the expense of a crushed scope or a slipped scope. I know this much....a 4200 is as tough to squish as any scope made. the swaro a-line.....not so much. when in doubt use an inch pound wrench and work up from there.
