Well i just got back from cabelas. I have been looking for a varmint gun for a while. Never really thought about an AR till recently. I went to cabelas originally thinking i was going to buy the stevens model 200 package, but i decided to look at some ar's first. I held a few different ones, but i really liked the bushmaster orc. So i ended up buying it and could not be happier! Came home and me and my dad put on a bsa red dot scope and it is awesome! I just turned 18 on the 24th of this month so this was my first gun purchase! love this gun. What do you guys think? i heard bushmasters are top notch so i was pleased. will post pics on monday

Just finished off my second 1000 round case of 5.56 through my bushmaster with no malfunctions.
-
ya its good to hear positive stuff bout the bushmasters. Really excited.
Tony, I picked it up for $899.99. out the door with tax and all it was about $970.00.
Big investment, but already worth it to me. might have pics tomorrow. But i'll have them up asap

Nice rifle... now, take that BSA red-dot off and get something that's going to hold up for more than a few hundred rounds... Ultradot, Bushnell Trophy red dot, etc.
-
Sweet boomstick! But I would definitely put some diff glass on it (unless you're shooting shot range)

ya i just put that scope on it so i could go shoot it some. Cuz it doesnt have iron sights, and i have no money left for a good scope yet...spent it all on the gun :chuckle:

I hear ya! :chuckle: A low-power variable (1.5-5x20 is what I have on my DPMS AP4) is about perfect. It's great for close-in work, as well as reaching out a bit.

If you're looking for a great low-cost scope, check out a Vortex Crossfire. They're damn good and have a really good warranty on them.
