So I was lucky enough to shoot a cougar this fall and it is in the freezer waiting to be sent off. Does anybody have any recommendations on a good person to go to? I haven't decided between a full body mount or a rug. Thanks in advance

If you go with a full mount if you send it to this guy you will have the coolest cougar mount on your block.

He's not cheap but hey you don't get a cougar every day and personally I think a cougar is a hard mount for many taxidermists to do. If you can afford it, the way I look at it come twenty years from now when it's sitting in your trophy room you won't care much that you spent a little extra money but you will care if turned out like crap and have been staring at crap for the past 20 years.

wow. Spendy, but the guy does great work. Agree with Wonky, cats (not just cougars, all cats) are tough for many taxis. I have seen guys that do great deer and elk that cannot make a cat look lifelike to save their lives. Good luck Vande, and congrats on the cougar!

Soucey, you wont be disapointed.

Phil is the cat master. If I ever get a cougar, and if I could afford a full size mount that's who I would send it to. Congrats on the cougar. You have any pictures?
-
i don't like most life size cat mounts but dang that guy does great work.

That guy def does some good work but I will have to figure out just how much money I can spend on it right now. Its not every day that you get a chance to shoot a cougar so I want to make sure I do it right and get something that will last a lifetime. I have some pics on my other computer so I will post those when I get a chance.

some taxi's will let you make payments on it and some only take a small deposit but other take half and most of the time you will be a year or so out my bear took 2 years depends on the taxi again. but talk to them and see then put the money down and make payments or save to pay it off when it is done you will have a little while to wait.

go ahead and shoot another cougar, so that you can have two cougars in the same scene. Whoever you choose will have ample time, since it will be a year from march if you took it in now.
Congrats..
lots of guys on here I would feel comfortable taking a cat to.

does that mean you havent eaten it

Soucy is the MAN when it comes to predators for sure. Does pretty damn fine work on all other animals as well. Pricey, but all it takes is one look at his gallery to see you get every pennies worth.
-
Congrats to you, cougars are hard to come by, make sure you look at peoples work before you choose them.
-
Blkbear said it all. Take your time and be sure to look at all your options. My personal choice would be a lifesize since it brings the animal more back to life.
