Title: Shore fishing maui?

I am going to Maui for a week, leaving Sat...Wanted to take a rod and do a little shore fishing in the down time, anyone done this or have any tips!? Thanks....Lewy

We fished from the shore in Kauai and did ok, though I have no idea what kind of fish they were.  We went down to wal mart and bought cheap rod/reel combos that we ended up leaving there.
