I've never went out for bears in the spring, but after just coming home from the desert, you can be sure I'll be hitting any possible hunting season that I can be!

How was your first choice Capitol Forest when there are no permits there this year ???I believe he had applied for the Lincoln permit, which borders Capitol Forest.

I put in for Aladdin, Monroe, Kapowsin, and Copalis. It's my first time applying so my hopes are not up. If I get drawn for any of the last three it will be a bit of a scramble since I've never hunted any of those areas. I put in for them based mostly on draw odds and the fact that they are close enough that I could do some scouting on weekends if I need to. I'm familiar with the Aladdin unit but it's a heckuva drive for me.ok buddy 10-4 that!

i knew there was a fee but am unaware of how much it is.
Well the year round pass is over $300 but that was sold out about two months ago
They (Hancock Forest Managment) are offering a temp pass that is only valid during the bear hunt for $100
I really wish people would research their areas before submitting apps because many people who get selected for these fee areas don't use their permit because of the fee and those of us willing to pay the fee lose out...

What meeting? They are having a meeting the 12th and 13th to discuss the new proposed special permit system and other things. Is that the meeting you're talking about?
Then they are supposed to make the decision about a month later at the next commisioner's meeting whether to accept the proposal or not. So I'd say we're looking at a minimum of 6 weeks before applications will be up for sale. (notice I said "applications." I wish I could purchase a special permit but all we can buy is the applications) ;)

No worries with me. I'll pay the $100. I didn't research it because I really didn't care what it would cost. I've heard that there are big bears in there and I want a big bear. I have $100, but I don't have a bear yet. It's only money right?

Well if it's the same schedule as last year the drawing/selection is this coming week so hopefully the results will be on the internet right after that. And the packets will be sent out next week..But that is a total guess, this is just how it went last year.

I have heard of desk permits being issued in other species. I guess you should hang out at the wdfw offices and see what opens up.
My friend is retired and has time on his hands. He said he is already out scouting.
