I keep hearing about Rufus, but have never been there. With fish like that, wish I lived closer.

Launch at Seatons Grove. If you want to fish with everyone else just run a few miles downriver to the net pens. If you like some peace and quiet you can fish anywhere on the river. The fish are spread all throughout.

where are the best places to fish on the reservoir? I am going to be able to go in the middle of the week so people won't be around as much....

Their is two sets of pens that i know of the first is a tribal pen the second which is a few miles down river is privately owned. the owners sell the fish to restaurants the tribe also pays him to realease fish from time to time. We fished near the private pens. use a little brown dough bait the size of a pencil eraser the holdover fish hang around the nets lookin to pick off the scraps when the pen fish get fed. one small spilt shot and #14 hook and you should tear it up light line makes it more fun.

Like I said, the fish are spread throughout. We used to fish the pens because thats where the "best" fishing is supposed to be. We got tired of the crowds around the pens and started exploring on our own. We've done well all up and down the river. Other than the pens, there really isn't any special place thats better than the next.

Yelp's Teriyaki Triploid

Cut off belly fat and fat on top of back. cut out rib bones.. get a big ziplock baggie gallon size, lay out fillet(s) with knife slice 4 inch sections (cut down to skin but not through)(this allows marinade to soak into back meat. put in a bottle of Yoshidas and a few squirts of soy and two squirts of sesame oil.  In a bowl mix brown sugar, season salt, garlic salt, pepper, bbq seasoning, mix together.  Soak a cedar plank in water (about hour) place on charcoal BBQ.  Place plank on grill, place fillet on plank, let it cook/smoke for 10-15 minutes..then sprinkle dry mix in bowl over fillet. let it continue cooking..keep adding dry mix as it melts into the fish..once cooked (No more than 25 minutes) take off plank and place on cookie sheet.  Serve and enjoy!  Goes great with some asian rice..
