I found some droppings that at the time I saw them I thought they were elk....
But a different thread had a picture of similar droppings and said it was bear...
couple guys that know more about Spring Bear than I do said they are Bear......
What do you think ?
-
Some more....
-
Bear :twocents:
-
A couple more...
-
And a double....
-
Oh yeah bear for sure... Thanks for sharing those crappy pics... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
There were a few more, all along about 100 yard stretch of road, I put my trail camera up to see what I can get pictures of, but forgot to bring a card for it :bash:
I should get a couple on cameras memory, and will put a card in tomorrow....
-
ive been finding that too. cant wait til the 15th
-
Looks like different sized piles. Might be two different bears. Possible a sow and cub.
I found a similar spot last spring with many piles of different sizes.

I found more in a different location, a couple miles away.......
if this is really bear sign, there should be some good hunting in Lincoln......
I dont know, I still am leaning towards Elk.......
-
Bear for sure. Looks like they been eating that grass along those roads.

Now your getting me excited :chuckle:
-
I am getting excited too!!,
I put my camera up in the first spot, then drove around trying to find the place the WH employee told me about.
While driving I looked down in the bottom of a timbered ravine and saw some good looking swamp, just around the corner was a pile of that green stuff (on mainline) !!
there were 2 more about 50-75 yards apart as I continued on.
Now if this really is Bear pelosi, I am looking forward until I can spend a whole day up there, instead of having to make these quick trips (although it's only 1/2 hour away......)
-
If I had a tag for that area I would be very excited for the opening of spring bear ;) Mark
-
Bear. Look at pic # 3. Looks like hair in it.
-
Sorry, my wife has me on a salad diet.... did you pick up my lighter? :chuckle:
-
Depends, what color is it ? :P
-
so, thats 4 votes for bear, and no votes for elk, 3 didn't say, but implied bear, and one left me his lighter....
I guess I learned something new !
Come on 15th !!
I guess the turkeys I found on the other side of I-5 will have to wait.......
-
Looks like bear to me. Not elk. Maybe Sasquatch? :chuckle:
-
Definitely Bear!!!!!!!!! Time for a stakeout!

:yike: You found their bathroom, that's invading private space :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Whenever there is a doubt on bear or elk...look for tracks. Elk won't leave bear crap! :chuckle:
-
I have seen bear crap elk :chuckle:
-
I have seen bear crap elk :chuckle:
Yep..lol
-
Like Michelle said, It looks like hair in the one picture. Last time I checked elk didn't eat their young :dunno:
-
I remove all poop from the roads and trails..Fetish thingy :chuckle: So if your in an area im in you might see flying poop, guess Im a shat disturber...have any of you come across an area where the tracks are deep from yrs of walking the same place???Pretty cool
-
If I find something like that.... :IBCOOL:
I would be so :o
-
I have been posting on different sites and the vote is 60% for bear and 40% for elk out of all responses....
weird thing is on the "bear" site they say elk......
Although it has come to my attention that a lot of recognition goes to BTKR as "knowing his stuff" and he passes that along to those that responded on this site....
:dunno:
As far as looking for tracks...as I stated before, there is no way that anything would leave any tracks where these were found.......
When I go up to check my camera today, I will look and see if that is hair, but I think it is just grass......
-
besides the spring bear hunters and turkey hunting, the other thing that happens on this site every year this time is the multiple pictures of poop.
I love it. I think we had a whole thread last year dedicated to piles of poo. I'll have to look it up.
-
I remember hearing that it is a requirement to joining Y.A.R. (not that I am applying)
-
Well if we can't get pictures of the actual bear responsible for the poop, a picture of the poop is the next best thing, right? :chuckle:
I'll be posting some poop pictures as soon as I can figure out how to get them off my cell phone and onto the computer. My previous cell phone it was a piece of cake getting the pictures off, but with this new phone I don't have a clue. Plugged it into the computer and nothing happened. Anybody know about LG/Verizon phones?
-
if all else fails, you can text the pics to your e-mail address.
-
Yeah that's true, hadn't thought of that.
-
Are you gonna post them on this thread, or start your own ?
-
I don't know. I hadn't thought about that yet. Does it matter either way?
-
I just want to see them....
-
I just want to see them....
it is poo after all...
:)
-
"Hunters Porn" :P
-
"Hunters Porn"
Hunter's porn is Antlers, horns, firs, taxidermy, firearms, bows, fancy optics, etc.
Poo is purely a fetish and belongs in an entirely different section of Porn. :chuckle:
-
"the eye of the beholder"....
I guess when you are a perv..... :yike:
-
OK, well I emailed one of the pics to myself. Only problem is it automatically resized it and the quality isn't great. But anyway here's one of the piles:
-
first the plug is a lighter, and now the plug is a Garmin Rhino? These bears must have had an interesting fall.
-
:chuckle:
Actually, not a Rhino. It's a 60Csx
-
thats an enormous heap of crap.
-
last year there were a couple that shat out pistols.
:yike:
-
Here's another, it's not as big a pile as the first one, but I didn't put anything next to it for reference so it might be difficult to judge.
-
Well...That looks like what I been finding....Any tracks ?
-
No, didn't see any tracks around. I'm certain it's bear, not elk.
-
This is the last of my "crappy" pictures. This was a small pile, about 6 feet from the pile in that last pic I posted. I'm assuming this was from a cub w/sow because of that.
-
ahhh last fall me n a buddy found a pile that was still standin steamin and stinking, never thought i woulda neededa pic lmao
-
looks like you found their toilet/bathroom.
-
here is a small pile, not sure if it was bear though... ;)
-
I want to know why a bear would eat a bic lighter?
-
Along with the GPS, pocket knives, handguns, spare change, etc....
They are omnivours.....
good thing it's not bells and smells like pepper.....
-
Maybe he was lighting his farts and lost his balance and fell on the lighter? :chuckle:
-
um, I'm a bit sensitive to comments like that, 'happened to me once, not bad going in but a pain heading out.
