Well , here it is Brian ! Its done!!!!
I used a regular shoulder form and modified it to a pedestal mount for Brains OIL moose he killed in Washington in 08'. I hope I did him justice , it is the First moose mount I have done. This was alot of work and alot of time involved.
Enjoy the pics!!

Before you put it all together, you made sure it would fit out the shop door right? :)
There is nothing small about taxiderming a moose. I can surely appreciate the work you did. Nice job.

sweet, now all I've got to do is figure out how to get it in the house, lol.

I know you always wanted a slider going out into the backyard....good time as any to knock a wall out and put one in. ;)

Yep, they have very curly hair up there. Kinda funny looking unless you know the critter. You want to talk about thick HIDE. Gotta love it up on top between the bones.

Ttell you what, Glad I use a Tannery to shave those moose capes :chuckle: Im surprised I could even pack that thing to my salt box after pressurewashing it :yike: I feal sorry for the shaver :chuckle:
-
Yeah, I tanned my own. It was a REAL biotch to try to pull that wet cape out of the bath without getting any on you. :chuckle: THen smothering it with hide paste and trying to slap that cap on. LOL THEN.....the mount came out of my work bench because of the weight and here I sat holding a form with antlers on it with a wet cape without getting hide paste on it. Wheres the utube video of that. I reached over with one hand and spun a 55 gallon barrell full of traps over to prop his nose in until I could get the thing re- anchored. Holy Moly! Shaving that thing was unreal
