I am very interested in learning taxidermy and would like to start with waterfowl.
I am good at skinning and painting etc.,but need to thourally learn the whole process of taxidermy from beginning to end.
Does anyone reconmend any good videos or DVDs to start with?

I learned from the book or a book from Frank Newmeyer on mounting wood ducks.  It was very nicely described and had great pictures of each process. He is one of THE MASTERS of ducks.  In fact, his eyes and sculpted heads are still "namebrand in teh industry."

If video format is more your style, check out Research Mannikins online and view what they have available.

yah the bird taxidermy breackthrough manual is just about one of the best books i have read also.......very detailed and man it goes through each type of bird individually. goes through all the small detailed things that a taxidermist needs to know..........worth the 25 bucks!
