Title: Bitter Sweet Big One!
Post by: wastickslinger on April 10, 2010, 09:34:07 PM
After all these years I finally found a big one. Too bad I am about 5 years too late.  :bash: What a hog this would have been. It tapes out at 82" as it is. The main beam is chewed off right at the G4. I am sure that was about 8 more inches. Then half of the back of the G2 is rotted off. Who knows what came off there. My guess is that it was a 90" horn being conservative and only figuring back in the rest of the main at an average main of 22-23 inches for that type of frame. Maybe I will find his offspring.

MB-15, G1-1.5, G2-14.5, G3- 10.5, G4-11, Extra 1- 3.5, Extra 2- 5.5, H1-4.5, H2-5, H3-6, H4-5.5= 82-82.5

great horn. Crazy that horns can even be on the ground that long these days and not get seen.

Like I told you slinger, you are the only guy I know that can find a horn off of a 200" buck and still complain about it.   :chuckle:

Nice find.  I feel the same way when I find old big ones that are beat up, chewed up, cracked up, or just plain ratty...bitter sweet.

I think he's imagining what he'd have done if it was a fresh brown antler  :chuckle:

Nice fine there STICK! but I have to say, I think 509er is cursed, cause everyone around him seems to find a big shed. He seems to never walk in the rite spot :)

He might not have found the 200" yet but that turd kicks my butt in decent browns.  :bash: :bash: Both of you do. I need frends that dont shed hunt so much. I find 40 sheds and I am still at the bottom of the totem pole.  :yike:
