I have to head over to Clarkston for a day or two. Any info on public land to kick around for turkeys while I'm down there would be appreciated. Thanks

They are around, but for me are tough to hunt in the lower areas. The terrain that I have located them in is scrubby, with little cover, which makes setting up pretty tough. I can't point you to an exact location, but if you head down towards the Snake and Grand Ronde, you should find birds.
