DAMN YOU! I was going to go today but stayed home. J/k Duck. GOOD BONES!
-
I'm Jealous! :'(
-
Nice! My shed hunting grounds are under 4 feet of snow. Damn it!
-
I don't look for horns, but that Entiat/lower Columbia area is almost melted off. Could tell from the pics, and is not that hard to access. I was going to take a pic the other day because I was amazed at how the lower area is melted. Still a lot of snow above 2500 but everythign lower is really melted.
-
Hey, I thought we all agreed to wait until later!!! NO fair! ;)
-
So are mine Polarbear, either in your neck of the woods or in the MEthow. CRAP!
I can't believe there were white bones where you are at. That gets hammered.
-
Hey Bone, my buddy has been watching a big 6x6 mulie on my land over there waiting for him to drop. He finally did but the snow piled up at the same time and he figures that they are buried under a foot or more and in at least 3 feet. It sucks having to wait for a melt. I hope the critters dont gnaw on them before either myself or my buddy can get to them in a month or so.
-
There is so much snow over there its unreal. I even tried near the river where it is always bare ground. Hell, I have had Turkeys struttin and doing their thing this time of year. Not this year. Hope you guys find them.

sweet
-
Great pics!!! Miss the moutians and the sage brush
-
what gets me are the dumb@#%$ out looking for sheds over here, frickin deer are stressed and there is still lots of snow, the worst winter we have had in 12 years. Lets go out and move deer around.
-
Weren't you the one posting shed pictures at Christmas time?
-
:ass:
-
And your point Boneaddict? it was dec 13 during archery season, with less than 8" on the ground.
Miles and your point please. and whats with the lawn comment.
Some of you guys have some growing up to do, get defensive about shed hunting when u shouldnt be right now in certain areas.Deer park has half the amount of snow where I am.
-

Some of us have some growing up to do?
Dude you are barking up the wrong tree my friend. choose your words carefully because we are all friends here.....
Shouldnt be in some areas?
And who's to tell us that walking into an area and scaring up a couple deer is going to kill them.....dude if walking into an area to find sheds spooks up a couple deer and they die from the excitement of watching us bone hunters then maybe those deer werent strong enough to make it to the next year anyways......Its the circle of life.....
-
Shane...Dude you need to relax and not be so offensive and carry on the way you do. You came to this forum like that and really this place is great. People can disagree but man you are just over the top. I disagree with Pope on almost everthing, but I don't freak out and start cursing and being a jerk to him. State your position on things but don't attack people, and don't hide behind how your just not going to stand for it. A little self evaluation I think is in order.
-
shane you should calm down aggressive people like you are why i worry about taking my kids hunting during rifle season find a dear abbey for your rants grow up :beatdeadhorse:
-
I think Shane does have a point, not sure about his earlier posts. When in the Umtanum a few weeks ago, saw folks letting their dogs run free ahead of them, and I was watching sheep a long long ways off, they all bolted when the dogs ran free ahead of the hikers. We had hiked up within view to watch with no impact on the game, loose dog was different....
I think it is all about what type of activity the game see. A slow walk is far different than snowmobilers performing a grid search for any antler. I am sure that we all agree that shed hunters should not try to stress the wildlife.
-
Thankyou Iceman, there are states with shed hunting laws and you wouldnt be allowed in the woods right now to be looking for sheds,if we had more winters like this there would be laws.
You guys need to calm down jc, my first post attacked nobody and no names, jesus, bunch of woman on here. I stated my stance on the issue, wait till the snow melts. What it seems to me people took offense to it,because they go out and do it themselves.
I then wanted a anwser to my questions that I asked the 2 on here, still no response, I know exactly what was meant by them from 2 mo ago, please enlighten me Miles and Boneaddict. Simple really asked a question, you want to bring something up I will ask for an anwser.
And spike I dont rifle hunt, good for you I guess by your post, LOL
-
Shane, I agree with a point you are making, not your approach. I am sure I have my own way of pissing people off, but when you speak up in the middle of a thread about guys picking sheds up today, and then pop off with the "dumb@#%$ remark", guys are going to get a bit upset with you.
...what gets me are the dumb@#%$ out looking for sheds over here,
-
Look at all that snow in those picture. I bet Duck killed 30 fawns today while shed hunting. :chuckle: Give me a break Shane, just because there is snow at your place doesnt mean that there is snow everywher in E washinton. We have been without snow for a month here in Moses and central wa. The most we have at a time is a few inches.
I agree with being careful in the wintering areas with snow and large herds. but I dont think that is the case with this post. I think you should have started a new thread and directed your comments to others where you live and not generalized so much.
Again, great finds Duck!!! Too bad your thread got hijacked.
-
Well now.....isn't that special...?

:boxin: :boxin: :boxin:

Shane get real!
You post something like that and think your not gonna piss people off? Whether you mention any names or not you did state that the guys over here that are out looking for sheds are *censored*es! I guess that means since you live 8 miles west of Deer Park and I only live 15 miles from Deer Park you must be talking about me right. I can tell you one thing the areas that im looking in right now the deer have moved out of since the snow has started melting so you should have nothing to worry about. As far as your sheds that you picked up in December and the picture of them you posted I call *censored* on it also. You cant post of pic of sheds laying on a summer lawn and expect us to believe that it was taken mid December when everyone else around here has 8 to 10 inches of snow on there lawns.
Heres another one for ya, I know theres quite a few people over on the monster muley site waiting to see some pics of those 200" moose sheds from the huckleberry unit.

Anyone have a recipe for Foot in mouth :chuckle: How about crow. :dunno:
-
I'm not sure anyone deserves the MM dogpile that Shane has had to deal with here. I'm even more surprised that spikes' post is even still on here. Where are the Mods and Admins??? :dunno:

We can't be everywhere so don't be afraid to notify us if something is out of line. The post has been removed.

Full of ..it Miles, please. why in the hell would I post sheds if they werent found this year, could of just wrote here are a set of shed I found last year. Grow up,must be a sad world that you live in, to think that way. There was no snow in the valley on dec 13.
-
I haven't been avoiding you, just so many other good posts to read.....my point was you must have been out in the field back in December to find antlers when you did. You don't think that stresses deer right in the middle of the winter when they are settling in. There are *censored*es, I agree. I assume you are pooint ing your finger at me as I am the one tlaking about shedding at the time and I have been out some. NOT NEARLY what I normally do, for the reason you are trying to defend. I try my hardest to be low impact, and you know what, just might scare a deer or two, but most that I encounter I walk right by without too much issue. I think thats why there are pictures on here. I agree with your point, but in order to find an antler you need to go look. Unfortunatley mostly what I am finind are boot tracks. Way of th eworld I guess. I have my limits, I'm sure you have yours.

Very nice. Went up yesterday myself only found one.
