Title: Spring
Post by: NWTFhunter on April 24, 2010, 11:45:32 AM
Kim purchased a Sony A230 recently and we have been having a good time taking lots of pics with it.  Mostly Kim has been burning the shutter though. I would have loved to take it turkey hunting with me, but that wasnt going to happen !!!

Here are a few of my favorites from the past month.

Thank you Dale !  I wonder what would happen if I snuck her camera out for a day hunting hunting turkey   :chuckle:
I would have loved to have it when guiding as I would have been able to take some real good pics.

Sounds like the camera is more important than you  :yike:
just kidding... :chuckle:

I have been looking for a good camera for myself. I will have to look up info about Kims model. Those are some great pics you posted.

I think your onto something   :'(

I tried to get her to go cannon, but since she already had a Sony, she didnt want to change.  Come to find out the battery pack is not interchangable with the other Sony.  :chuckle:

But she is happy with it and thats what matters.

Its the Sony A230, there is a rebate on them currently at bestbuy and other locations from what I read.  A good zoom lens is also fairly inexpensive right now too.

I was just looking at camera options last night on the internet, there are quite a few good buys right now. Do you know what she had to pay and what type of lens she got?

We drove across the river so we didnt have to pay sales tax, she paid 450. It came with a 3.5-3.6/18-55.  She found a nice zoom at Kits for 149 that she is looking at.  But from what I have seen the price of the camera has come down a 100 !  Check out stores in the portland area and if you find something I could possibly pick it up for you  ?

I have a Sony A 100 and my wife has a Sony A 200. Both are nice cameras and will take any of the Minolta Maxxim lenses as well as the Sony lenses. I have an 18 to 70 Sony kit lense for each camera and I have a 70 - 210 Sigma, a 35 - 80 Minolta, a 50mm Minolta and a Manual 500mm F8 (Don't remember the make) for them. Al l work great on the Sony DSLR's
