I have the chance to get a Tikka T3 270 with a nikon 3x9 new in box for just a little over 800$. I'm don't know anything about the tikka rifle and was looking for any thought someone may have as to quility and dependability. and dose this seem like a reasonable price :dunno:

I have never owned one, but everyone I know that has says they are great shooters. Search around here and you'll find some good info about them. People seem to love them.

:)blue or stainless? $100.00 difference. about 500 for a new blue/600 for a stainless. I know nothing about Nikon scopes, what model?. Tikas are fine rifles.

it depends if it is a stainless gun and the most expensive nikon out there than it is probably a fair price but i know i could walk into a store get a tika t3 blued with a nikon scope for 700 new so it just depends even if it is a top end nikon and stainless rifle it is a fair price no deal but fair and if its a low end nikon and blued it is over priced. hope this helps

Depends on the scope and if it's stainless... but really doesn't sound like that 'great' of a deal. For 800 bones I would put together my own set-up. PLENTY of choices out there for $800 with out-the-box accuacy (Wby vanguard, Savage, etc). It just sounds to me like a basic set up with nothing special, where someone is wanting to get back their investment. :twocents:

judging by the responses supporting tikka rifles on this site, you'd think tikka was a sponsor or something. I think they are ugly looking rifles but according to the masses on here they are shooters. Beauty is in the eye of the rifle-holder though, so I'll stick with my TC Encore. :peep:

What barrels do you have in your Encore?
