I was wondering if anyone with the Lick Creek tag is having any luck or any sightings. We saw a cinnamon sow with a cinnamon cub and a blond cub. It was cool watching them, wishing it was a boar. Will be back this weekend.

Haven't even tried to go...probably burn another tag due to a variety of logistic issues. I hope you get one...I think mine is a lost cause.

was up there friday saturday until the wind and snow got to be too much and we packed up camp and headed down the mountain. Didn't see any bears but found some area's where they have been tearing up the stumps pretty good. can't make it back until May 8th so hopefully the onions will be ripe and the weather will be a little nicer. We were up north by the lookout, wanted to make it farther south but the 40 road was a little snowy and soft.

Me and my Son drew tags and are headed over there this weekend.
Hopefully the weather we be decent. :dunno:
Will keep everyone posted. :chuckle:

Fresh snow boys and girls.
Not sure how low yet as I haven't headed that direction since it snowed but the weather guesser this morning said there was a "weather advisory" for that part of Asotin and Garfield counties down to 3500 ft. 2-5 inches of new snow. Forecast for tonite says 1-2 in of new snow. That's on top of what we had already gotten earlier this week. Sunny for this weekend.
Leaving town this morning it looked pretty white that direction.

Hunt lower..

Good luck over there. I was down there the last few days and along the wenaha/mountain view border there was 4" of new snow tuesday night around 4,000 feet. Unfortunately sounds like they are in for some more down there.

Well....?

I have seen 4 bears in 2 trips. The first trip included 3 bears all small and the second produced a big chocolate right at dark that was too far for a shot. Hopefully this weekend will pan out. I feel like I am on them fairly well so we shall see. Tons of Elk and some fresh cat sign. Other than that I have walked approx 5 miles each trip and have seen good sign of the bears digging the onions.

Ok, so my Son and I went over and Scouted (hunted) the area for the first time. We saw alot of Elk, and Deer, and One Beautiful Cinnamon Boar. When we saw him he was only about 30' off the road. He looked at us for about 5 seconds, turned and ran uphill about 25'. stopped, turned and looked at us briefly and ran off into the woods. :bash: :bash: We weren't ready for him. :dunno: Had he been on the other side of the mountain we would have been expecting him because thats where we were looking.
I want to thank the 2 guys who were shed hunting who told us where a good place to go is for the next time. :whoo: We will keep you updated.

So here are a few pictures of our hunt from 2 weeks ago. I've got some videos as well, just not sure how to post them. :bash: Just wrote out a long narrative about our hunt, and then it didn't upload, so here's the short version:
We hiked up on top friday night and had a really good vantage point where we watched several canyons, and saw one giant blacky down in the bottom...which was where we were heading up saturday. Alarm clock at 4:30, trailhead by 5AM and we hiked, hiked, and hiked even deeper to where the black boy was, and he was a no show. :dunno: We sat until almost dark, then hiked out. The legs were to tired on Sunday to hike so we did some road hunting until it was time for the 6.5hr drive home.
:cryriver:
We are heading over to the Tricities this weekend for a wedding on Sat, and we are trying to sweet talk momma in to letting us head back over for the extended weekend. We'll see...Pray for us. :o
