Title: Old Blacktail
Post by: Jerome on March 11, 2007, 04:09:01 PM: My grandfather passed away last month and my grandma divided up his hunting stuff. I made sure that i got a blacktail mount that he had done in the early 80s. It was stored in a shop since then. So the condition is in poor shape. So my plan is to get a new cape in the next couple of years and have it remounted.

Post by: Muleyslyr on March 26, 2007, 02:43:15 PM: Almost looks like they polished the antlers as well. It would be cool if you could find a good cape for him and maybe restain the antlers. I'm sure they were nice and dark back in the day. That's a great memory to have of your grandfather though.
