Title: Avoiding death
Post by: boneaddict on May 05, 2010, 05:42:49 PM
Here is one I haven't posted.  He was out in open season.   He's probably lucky I was packin glass and not lead if you know what I mean.  I know at least one member thinks I am pitiful, but I thought I'd share him anyway.  I personally like public land HUNTED bucks on film instead of those private ranch/national park deer.  They are a little harder to see, let alone get nice pics of, so sorry for the poor quality.  I didn't post them originally becasue they weren't that great of pics.

He was tall and had a nice frame.  Crab claws for sure, but honestly I'd have stuck him if I had a permit in my hand.  Might as well thin out those bad genetics.  :)   I LOVE old deer, no matter what their bones look like

That can't be public, there's no such thing as a wild deer in washington. They are all on farms or downtown.

nice pictures

I see young spikes all the time on public land. The 3pt min deer are the ones that move into the city.  :chuckle:

this "lucky buck" didn't happen to have his brother close by?  i've watched one that looks very similar to this guy,  but he had his brother/buddy with him following two does around,  they looked like twins...  too bad they didn't stick around the public land till open season

If i were you Bone I would invest in one of those TC pistols and a sling.... My father inlaw has one in 270 that is rocking! Pretty easy to carry even with other gear.  :twocents:

Seriously, all the big bucks are within 2 miles of downtown eburg it seems. Last year I saw a 4x5 in a dudes lawn just outside of town. Yesterday I saw a 2 point that was already wider then the tips of his ears.
