Very generous bearpaw. :) Those DIY 2 day/night turkey hunts at that price should be a hot item!
-
for the cougar hunt to be given away, is this a hound hunt?
if i were to apply for that hunt, what would be the best one to apply for?
and will my application upset hound owners because i dont own hounds and am lowering the hound owners chances by applying?
i really want to do a hound hunt one day for cougar. that is a great oppertunity and even the discounted price is a sweet deal!

I feel the same. I would love to apply, but don't want to hear the backlash. :dunno:

I don't think this thread was started with the intent of it becoming a debate.
Simply an outfitter doing what he can do to run his business.

-
You're a good man Bearpaw.
-
i would love to go on a hunt with. just have a bunch of advertising bill's to pay. Rick
-
Its a hell of an offer....thanks Bearpaw!
-
Regarding backlash, heres my opinion:
I am a houndsman myself, but I think it's a mistake for hound hunters to try and keep this great sport of houndhunting to themselves. We hounders are far better off to share our sport with other hunters, that is how support is established for something, it is done by involving others, nuff said. :twocents:

Thanks jackelope, you are exactly correct. In this economy all businesses are experiencing "survival of the fittest", you either find ways to engage the marketplace, or you find a different profession. I like what I do, so I look for creative ways to stay busy. I hope some of the folks find these offers appealing, there are more to come.
-
Thanks for the offer bearpaw. If I draw we will be in touch!

Turkey Hunts
http://bearpawoutfitters.com/washington_turkey_hunting.html (http://bearpawoutfitters.com/washington_turkey_hunting.html)
We have room for 4 more private land turkey hunters before the May 31 closing. So far we have had about 130% success overall. We would like to take about another half dozen birds off the properties. Here's a special deal to get 4 more hunters this month.
Private Land Turkey Hunts - Save $400
Unguided…….was $950....now $550
Guided 2x1…was $1450....now $1050
We also offer unguided public land turkey trips. We provide meals, lodging, and directions where you can hunt. Bring your weapon and sleeping bag for the bunk bed and come hunting.
Public Land Turkey Hunts - 2-Days/3 Nights with Hunting Advice, Meals, and Lodging $200
-
If I still had a tag, I'd be there tomorrow at that price! Looks to me like the cost of the lodging and meals pretty much easily eats up the $200, and the hunting and advice part of it are free.......... :dunno: Your phone should be ringing off the hook!
-
Thanks MtnMuley, times are tough though, not near as many people hunting as most years. Just hoping we can get a few more turkey hunters before season ends.
-
great deal right there
-
If I had time I'd be over there at that price! Great deal, bearpaw! Don't think you could beat that unless you slept in the truck and ate from the cooler...

wow now that is a low price :chuckle: killer deal
man does that tv ad get old :chuckle: now they are playing it on the radio :yike: :bash:
-
Carpsniper, not quite sure what you meant with that. Even if it means I make nothing on a few of the hunts, I figure it's better to make the sales and take care of the leases and keep my guides working. ;)
-
Hope you fill them all up Dale sounds like a good deal to me.
-
i ment nothing then other then that is a great deal. i was making a joke at the lame t.v ad while at it. i have looked at doing a doe hunt over there and you are cheaper then most by about 300.00  thats all :hello: i kinda know the indusrty being a fellow outfitter it only makes sense to fill a spot then not have anyone there.
-
Thanks carpsniper, we don't watch much tv so I didn't know what you meant. :)
Thanks Buckhorn2, I have been selling a few hunts, just trying to keep the cash flow at a certain level to make everything work. My fingers are crossed hoping the economy gets better again. We are thankful we are still operating, not everyone is that lucky. I really feel sorry for the guys who have bought outfitting businesses and are still making payments on the business. Some are losing their butts just like folks in other businesses that are failing.
I am not the only outfitter discounting hunts to get them sold. If anyone has ever considered a hunt and can afford to go, this is definitely a time to get good deals for what ever you want to hunt, in any part of the world. :twocents:
-
:chuckle: yeah there is this crazy guy that is like in staples or some office supply store. and he looks at about 4 price tags and screams "wow that's a low price" lol very stupid :chuckle:
yeah lucky i am in the game to fill spots between my farming so i don't have to make a certain $ to keep going and am glad you are keeping going and if you ever need any help selling hunts i do book hunts for other outfitters as well. and would be happy to help a brother outfitter maybe trade you out of a lion hunt

UTAH PRIVATE RANCH MULE DEER
I have 4 mule deer hunts available on a 13,000 acre ranch in northwestern Utah close to Nevada and Idaho. Season runs Oct 1 to Nov 10. Most hunters shoot 16" to 26" bucks, but the ranch has produced a few 30" bucks. We normally have 90% to 100% success on the guided hunts. Depending on their ability, unguided hunters have been anywhere from 0% to 100% with probably about 60% success overall. I will attach some photos of mule deer we have taken on the ranch.
This is a fun hunt, when I hunt the ranch I normally spot 50 to 100+ deer daily and have seen a couple dozen bucks in a day, but I would say a half dozen bucks per day is about average. It's open rolling mountains and canyons with brushy pockets and one end of the ranch has heavy juniper cover. We have the best luck spotting the deer from a long distance and planning a good stalk. Another very effective method is to make drives through the many small brush patches. I took $500 off the price of these hunts for this week only.
http://bearpawoutfitters.com/utah_mule_deer_hunting.html (http://bearpawoutfitters.com/utah_mule_deer_hunting.html)
Guided 2x1...was $2950...this week only $2450
Unguided.....was $1950...this week only $1450

Bearpaw great deal I am interested to hear more.Does the price include tags and lic.?My son is 12 min. age for kids in UT?Does he need the hunterEd class.DO to him playing on 2 baseball teams this year I was going to defer his huntered for 1yr. on the wdfw mentor program. Thanks Kramman
-
Here are some of the mule deer photos from the Utah ranch that I forgot to post. The photo of the picked up rack was a cougar kill that was found.
The price does not include licenses which will cost you about $333 each. Hunters must be at least 12, and hunter ed is required if you were born after Jan 1, 1965.

Bear Hunts
Get 2 Guided Bear Hunts for $2500 total, that's only $1250 each. Our regular price is $1950 each for these bear hunts. SAVE $1400
Unfortunately two of my bear hunters cancelled at the last minute. So we only have 1 guided hunter and 1 unguided hunter out this week. On the first day (Sept 1) 12 bear, 3 cougar, a bull moose, and several good bucks were spotted. All the close bear were smaller ones so they were passed. We finished the day with a grouse for our efforts.
On the second day, 4 bear, a bunch of deer, two cow elk and a 5x5 bull elk were spotted. The unguided hunter watched the 5x5 for over a half hour, next week I have a bowhunter for elk so hopefully this bull hangs around the same area. Again smaller bear were passed yesterday, but just at dark last night a big brown was spotted with the guided hunter. They left that bear where he was at and are headed out this morning hoping to put the hurt on him. Anthony figured he was at least 250 and a really pretty shade of brown. My fingers are crossed for the day.
If anybody wants a cheap bear hunt, I will resell the two guided bear hunts that were cancelled for $2500 for both hunts, that's only $1250 each, we normally get $1950 for a bear hunt, so you save $1400 on both hunts.
I also have room for a few unguided bear hunts or unguided archery deer hunts. I will take $300 off the price, so you would only pay $450 to $950 for the hunts. We include meals and lodging and know where plenty of bear and deer are located.

WOW, that is a great deal. Dale, if I had any vacation time I would take you up on that offer....maybe next year (or the year after).
My father turns 80 on Christmas day this year and has slowed down quite a bit. Still active but the stanima just isn't what it once was. Is this something he would be capable of doing? Like I said, not this year but hopefully the following if his time here permits it. It would have to be an easier hunt for him.
-
Very nice offer :)

When you are ready to go cow elk hunting just remind me that your dad needs an easier hunt. I have a private ranch where we hunt out of elevated blinds and wait for the elk to enter the fields to feed at night. This is an easy hunt (almost no walking required) and we are usually 100% success on that hunt.
-
Will do Dale. Thanks
-
Last two days Anthony filled out 7 elk tags, that group is filled out and heading home tommorrow.
We could use a few more cow elk hunters, if anyone is looking for a good time and some meat for the freezer, give me a call. You can even do a two cow hunt. :yike: Double the fun, double the meat...
Hunts available until Jan 31.
-
Thanks Dale, Anthony is a very nice young man and I enjoyed chatting with him.

Fred I am so happy to see you got some freezer filler. Anthony called later in the day and told me that Jaun got his cow this afternoon too. Another good day... :)
Today puts us at 20 cows for 18 hunters... :) :) :)
FYI - We cut two female cougar today, but no toms. Hoping the quota is still open tommorrow, it has been down to 1 cat the last couple days. Hoping I can put in 1 more day looking for a good tom.
