Title: Huge Washington Moose Sheds!
Post by: Elkslayer on May 06, 2010, 05:20:46 PM: Here is a set of Monster Moose sheds that were picked up in N.E. Washington this year.
I have not seen these in person but I am being told that it would have about an 58" outside spread.

Post by: bearpaw on May 07, 2010, 09:29:54 AM: A friend specializes in looking for moose sheds, he has sent me several photos, if I stumble on them I will post. I had an extra moose cape that I was trying to talk him into mounting his best set with, but he never did, he just enjoys finding them. :)

i did see a moose in colfax two years back about as big as the second one. went back the next year saw him again but he had a bum leg and a drop tine

Post by: bearpaw on May 07, 2010, 10:55:30 AM: We have seen several moose through the years that I am sure had to be very close to 60". Many of the moose live where it's very heavy cover, it's just hard to find the same moose again, much less find their sheds. :chuckle:

There are a few dedicated shed hunters who are finding 1 to 2 dozen moose sheds a season. ;)

Ohhhhh..... I have seen those on Ebay but held off buying one because of the shipping and handling... I guess I will suck it up and get one now... :dunno:
